The Championship Level Costume Competition at All-Con recognizes and features advanced skills in documentation, construction, and presentation of costumes with accessories.

This is a winner-takes-all costuming championship. There are no runner-up positions announced and no grouping by category.

Make-up, body paint, and prostetics may be included for presentation as accessories to the costume.

This is a costume contest, not a cosplay contest. Entries will be judged upon the costume's construction and appearance; not specifically on any character or likeness. All entries are single / solo. Group entries will not be accepted.

Phase 1) Event Competitor Badge
To compete in Championship there is an Event Competitor Badge requirement in addition to the All-Con Convention Badge. The number of entries is limited to 20 contestants and an application must be filed at the time the Competition Badge is purchased. (The Competitior Badge is not a general entry convention badge. An All-Con badge is still required for you to attend the convention on the following days.)

Phase 2) Documentation
Applicants must prepare documentation for their entry. The documentation must be submitted to the convention no later than midnight on March 9, 2014 or the contestant will be disqualified.

Phase 3) Presentation
Applicants must arrive, ready to compete, at the Dogwood panel room at 7:00pm on Thursday March 13, 2014. No special lighting or audio are provided or made available. The competition begins at 8:00 pm in the Oak Ballroom and a photography / model release must be signed by contestant in order to compete.

Phase 4) Award
Once the scores have been tallied, a winner will be announced, and the $1,000 cash prize will be awarded. The decision of the judges (via scoring) is final.

DESIGN
The costume and any make-up or prostetics must be the artistic work of the contestant. No part of the costume or accessories may be commissioned work. Make-up and prostetics must be applied without assistance and before arrival to the staging area. Components may be purchased but must be combined into original design creation to qualify for competition. Kits will forefit scoring points and possibly disqualify the entire entry if excessive or significant.
