Hana Li Burlesque

Having lab teched her way through striptease school, Hana Li made her solo burlesque debut in the 2014 Dallas Burlesque Festival. Her brand of nerdy androgyny has dazzled audiences throughout Texas and beyond. She is a co-producer of the Tuesday Tease Queer Variety Show, and has been a contributor to ALL-CON since 2013. You may also recognize her failed self-cloning experiment, Tony Fo-Hawk, in local drag shows.

FRI 1:00p.m.: Ignorance and Fandom in the Era of MeToo and Black Panther (45 mins.)

Room: DOGWOOD (2nd Floor, Left) Rated: Mature

Produced By: Unaffiliated Individuals

Social justice has become a common topic in fandom discussions. But have we made any progress? From Cosplay Is Not Consent to #MeToo, we'll look at how the discourse on harassment has become mainstream... and yet still lacks a comprehensive view. We'll also look at how representation has changed with works like Black Panther and Legend of Korra and how some companies are, unfortunately, taking a step back. Most importantly, we'll talk about where we need to go to be a safe, more welcoming community of fans.

Speaking: Hana Li; Kyatto; Vylette Vivacious; Helena Isis
